In the clip “Brief history of accounting,” it is revealed that the earliest form of accounting originated from the name of Pacioli, who lived during the Renaissance. The bookthat Pacioli wrote, is thought to be the source of contemporary accounting. Although his version of accounting may look more different from what we have today, there is the fact that it was Pacioli who invented the concept of accounting.
In the 1800s the business in England changed. This video shows the ways accountants in Scotland demanded Queen Elizabeth grant them legal rights for accounting. That is the basis of our contemporary accounting forms. It is from here on that we have some form of legal right to practice accounting as a profession.
If we take a look at our modern society, accounting has been viewed as a distinguished profession which requires the highest level of expertise in both finance and math. It’s interesting to learn what it was like when this fundamental aspect of business today was born.
